Research Interests
I am interested in researching how social statuses such as race/ethnicity, gender, and class intersect to influence disparities across numerous social outcomes, including health, specifically in the context of marginalized communities. I am also interested in understanding the social and legal responses to crime and how those responses contribute to the racial disparities in the justice system. Through this research, my goal is to develop strategies for ameliorating and/or resolving the socioeconomic-based issues confronted by minority communities, such as unjust and discriminatory gaps in health, criminal justice involvement and sanctioning, and community and economic development.
