Between six and ten new students are admitted to the graduate program each year, with preference given to applicants who intend to complete the Ph.D. degree. In order to apply for admission to the graduate program in sociology, you must apply for admission to the Graduate School at Washington State University. The department also requires GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, a writing sample, and a brief statement of your professional interests, all of which are to be submitted directly to the Graduate School.
Applicants may send specific questions by e-mail to Co-Director of Graduate Studies, Jenn Sherman (email: email@example.com). Questions relating to what it is like to be a graduate student in the Department of Sociology at WSU can be directed to the current student representative of Graduate Studies, Katie Bittinger (email: firstname.lastname@example.org), or any member of our tenured or tenure-track faculty specializing in research topics in which the applicant may have an interest. General questions can be sent to the Sociology department by phone at 509-335-4595 or via email at: email@example.com.
We begin reviewing files on January 10. We only consider admission for Fall semester.
