I am currently researching subsistence food production in the United States. Subsistence production includes anything from canning and gardening or hunting and fishing to keeping livestock for personal consumption. I am interested in how these activities may be addressing environmental or social problems. I am also considering how subsistence activities intersect with globalized capitalism, social movements, and/or major changes in culture.
