My research will be focusing on the Voluntary Simplicity Movement, which refers to individuals who voluntarily reduce income and personal consumption. I am interested in the leading ideologies and operating strategies of the movement, the relationship between the VSM and environmentally conscious behaviors, the relationship between simplification and high-tech modern living, the effect of simplicity on personal wellbeing and the potential macroeconomic impacts.
