Holmes, Martin Sisters endowed chair and associate professor of medical anthropology and public health at University of California Berkeley, on his book, <\/em>Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies: Migrant Farmworkers in the United States<em>.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, we describe significant changes in undergraduate learning opportunities that are contributing to <a href=\"http:\/\/soc.wsu.edu\/socnews\/why-wsu-undergraduate-sociology-enrollments-are-up\/\">increases in our undergraduate enrollment<\/a>. A related article explains how <a href=\"http:\/\/soc.wsu.edu\/socnews\/why-i-am-majoring-in-sociology-perspectives-from-three-current-students\/\">three undergraduate students<\/a> with varied backgrounds each decided to major in sociology.<\/p>\n<p>Also, a part of this issue is the review of a new book, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/soc.wsu.edu\/socnews\/in-the-weeds-the-right-book-at-the-right-time\/\">In the Weeds<\/a>,<\/em> by Professor <strong>Clay Mosher<\/strong> and <strong>Scott Akins<\/strong> (PhD, 2003) that puts social context around the nationwide efforts to legalize the use of marijuana in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>We also hear from <strong>Indeira Persaud<\/strong> (PhD, 2012), who describes her <a href=\"http:\/\/soc.wsu.edu\/socnews\/alumna-indeira-persaud-phd-2012-and-the-nuts-and-bolts-of-research-methodology\/\">newly published book<\/a>, <em>The Nuts and Bolts of Research Methodology, <\/em>and comments on her graduate school experiences at WSU.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Morton<\/strong> (PhD, 2019), who this semester completed both her doctorate in sociology and master of science degree in statistics, describes her dissertation writing experience.
