\nHello, Alumni and Friends of Sociology at WSU,<\/h6>\n

My name is Justin Denney and I am honored to serve as the new director of Graduate Studies for the department. I am in my third year on faculty at WSU Pullman. Prior to landing in the Palouse, I spent seven years as a faculty member at Rice University in Houston, Texas. It hasn\u2019t taken long for me to become awfully invested in this department and place, and I want to acknowledge all of you for your part in making this a great place to study sociology.<\/p>\n

I know you are all busy, so I\u2019ll keep it short. If you have talented students or come across other colleagues or friends who are considering graduate training in sociology, please tell them about the sociology PhD program at WSU. You are part of the distinguished history in sociology at WSU, a significant attraction for many students applying to our program. This wonderful history contributes in many ways to our exciting present and our inspiring future.<\/p>\n

As a department, we are engaged in research and teaching aimed at building strong and sustainable communities. Our faculty consist of passionate, smart, and accomplished scholars who care deeply about providing opportunities to the next generation of sociologists.
