Internship Opportunities
Internships are an excellent way for students to apply sociological knowledge and skills to the workplace.
Soc 495: Capstone Internship
The capstone course is a self-selected work experience that helps students connect their theoretical knowledge and tools to life in the workplace. Students have the opportunity to apply concepts in social theory to their internship experience. Students develop a portfolio of papers designed to help them understand their experiences sociologically. This course fulfills the capstone requirement for sociology majors.
Prerequisites:
- Soc 310 theory
- Soc 321 statistics
- Soc 317 research methods (Pullman students)
or
Soc 320 research methods( Vancouver students)
Soc 493: Internship
The general internship has two goals: 1) opportunity for hands-on experience in a professional work environment related to your career interests, and 2) the opportunity to use sociological tools to reflect on a real-world work experience. Students may receive up to 12 hours of non-graded course credit.
