Research Interests
I am interested in how academia functions as a workplace and a social institution. Using a mixed-methods approach, I hope to explore how institutional policies come to exist, how these policies impact academic employees and students, and how individuals navigate the world of academia. My previous work in this area includes content analysis of and a national student survey about institutional policies regulating consensual student-faculty romantic and sexual relationships.
My secondary research area falls within environmental sociology. I am curious about environmental inequality and its intersections with gender, race, and sexuality. Additionally, I am interested in diversity within environmental academia and the field of environmental sociology.
