Welcome to the 2020 Spring Issue of Sociology News.

During this unprecedented global health crisis, we hope that each of you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. May we remember to practice sociology in our daily lives, especially during these difficult times.

This Spring 2020 issue of Sociology News focuses on honoring a handful of our department members, both past and present. We also list a few accomplishments at the end of the newsletter to congratulate our students and colleagues on their hard work.

In this issue, we honor the career and unforgettable character of Dr. Lisa McIntyre, who retired in the summer of 2019. In addition, we remember the late Dr. Gordon Morgan, who received his PhD from WSU Sociology in 1961 and went on to establish an illustrious academic career at University of Arkansas. Both McIntyre and Morgan are known and remembered as mentors and instructors who went above and beyond to help others.

We also highlight two of our undergraduate students who we are very proud to call sociology majors and who have been carrying the sociological imagination with them wherever they go.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any comments, questions, or ideas for future articles.
